Sam is a dedicated lifelong student and innovative music creator with a diverse and compelling background. Based in Sydney, he currently operates as a freelance composer and specialises in crafting music for broadcast television, film, documentaries and video games. Sam won the APRA AMCOS Professional Development Award in Screen Music in 2025. In 2024, Sam was nominated for an APRA Screen Music Award in the Best Music for a Video Game category.

With extensive experience in both Australian and international screen music projects, Sam has contributed to a wide array of platforms, including broadcast television and streaming services. His recent endeavours include work on a AAA+ video game, underscoring his versatility across multiple genres. Sam's keen ear for production, coupled with his distinctive approach to music composition and songwriting, has facilitated numerous rewarding collaborations with fellow artists and creators.

Notable credits in Sam's portfolio include projects for prominent entities such as Nintendo, Survivor, SBS (Hitler's Jewish Soldier), Lego Monkie Kid (Season 5), Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars, Life Below Zero, Stars On Mars (US), the Vivid Light Festival Sydney, Triple J Radio, MTV, Million Dollar Island, Under Investigation and more. 

Sam holds a Bachelor of Composition from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and a Bachelor of Audio Production from SAE. His musical journey began at the age of four with classical piano, and by the age of twelve, he transitioned to the guitar. Throughout his teenage years, he played in various rock bands while maintaining a strong foundation in classical music. Growing up in a musically diverse household has inspired him to explore a rich variety of musical styles, and he is currently expanding his repertoire with studies in Gypsy Jazz under renowned musician Stephane Wrembel.

Since beginning to release his original rock music in 2020, Sam has garnered significant support from platforms including Triple J, Triple J Unearthed, MTV, Aus Music Scene, and The AU Review.

In 2022, Sam partnered with composer and friend Rory Chenoweth to establish Epoch Music. Together, they crafted their debut original soundtrack for an indie Viking game which was nominated for an APRA AMCOS Screen Music Award in the Best Music for a Video Game category. It has also received national radio play on ABC Classic and has resonated with audiences, amassing an impressive 17,000 streams per month since its release. With their second original video game soundtrack on the verge of launch, Sam and Rory are excited to continue their collaborative journey, pushing the boundaries of their creative endeavours.

Additionally, Sam is an active musician in Sydney, performing weekly as a vocalist and guitarist while also working as a multi-instrumental session musician. Sam has performed original music at some of Sydney’s best-known venues including Marrickville Factory Theatre, The Metro, The Lair, Frankies Pizza and the inaugural Sunsets Festival.

With a number of exciting projects and collaborations on the horizon, Sam anticipates that 2025 will be pivotal in expanding his creative output and musical contributions.
